It was started in 2011, first two 500 MW units were installed and after that three 660 MW units were installed, generating a total of 2980 MW.
Talcher Thermal Power Station
Talcher Thermal Power Station was built in Odisha in 1995, which is currently generating 460 MW of electricity! It has four units of 60 megawatts, and two units of 110 megawatts! Which generates a total power of 460 megawatts, it is powered by NTPC
Rihand Thermal Power Station
Rihand Thermal Power Station was built in 1988. It is located in Renukoot and Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh. It generates a total power of 3000 megawatts. It has 6 units which generates 500 megawatts of electricity, also operated by the Government of India. Its name is NTPC. Its first unit started in 1988 while the last unit started in October 2013.
Tiroda Thermal Power Station
Tiroda Thermal Power Station was started in 2012. A private company runs Adani Power. Jai is built in Maharashtra. It generates a total of 3300 MW power. There are five units inside this thermal power station which generate 660 MW of power.
Jindal Megha Power Station
Jindal Mega Power Plant is located in Raigad district of Chhattisgarh. This power station generates 3400 MW of power. It is run by a private company Jindal Power Ltd. It has a total of 8 units, out of which four units are 250 megawatts and four units 600 MW which together generate 3400 MW of power
KSK Mahanadi Power Plant
This thermal power plant, named as KSK Mahanadi Power Project, is located in Chhattisgarh. It was started in 2013 or generates a total of 3600 MW of power. It is run by a private company called KSK Energy Ventures. Units which are 600 Mega Watt, this unit together generate 3600 Mega Watt of electricity.
Sasan Ultra Mega Power Plant
The Sasan Ultra Power Plant is located in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh. It generates a total of 3960 megawatts of electricity. It was started in 2013. It is run by a private company Reliance Power. It has a total of 6 units of 660 megawatts. All these units generate 3960 megawatts of power.
Mundra Ultra Mega Power Plant
The Mundra Ultra Mega Power Plant has been built in Gujarat which started in 2012, it generates 4000 Mega Watt of electricity from it is run by a private company Tata Power There is a total of 5 units which is 800 Mega Watt Power Generate Mundra Ultra Mega Power Plant is made of a very different technology using super boiler technology.
Mundra Thermal Power Station
Mundra Thermal Power Station has been built in Gujarat. It started in 2009. It generates 4620 megawatts of electricity from it. It is run by a private company called Adani Power. It has a total of 9 units out of which four units are 330 mega. There are five watts and five units are of 660 megawatts which together generate 4620 megawatts of power.
Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station
Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station is the largest thermal power plant in India. It generates some 4760 megawatts of power or is located in the Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh. It was started in 1987, the bridge has 13 units of which 6 units are of 210 mega watts and 7 units are of 500 megawatts. This total of 13 units together generates 4700 megawatts of power.
